Moleskine March

Just the other day at work we had a conversation about how to pronounce Moleskine (a popular brand of journals/sketchbooks). I have always pronounced it mole-skin, but others had pronounced it mol-eh-skee-nee or mole-skeen. This really has nothing to do with this particular post, but I thought it was interesting.

Anyways... I bought a Moleskine journal this weekend and have decided to start journaling again. In fact, I am making it a goal to journal every day for the month of March with hopes of forming some kind of habit. With everything happening in my life right now, I think it could be very therapeutic and help me sort through and get perspective on some very difficult things.

There are 3 things I hate about journaling.

1.) Starting a new journal is like going to a new shrink. I feel like I have to write down every little thing that has gotten me to the point where I am currently in my life, and then by the time I write all of that down I am at a different point in my life.

2.) I am a terrible speller and I hate that journals don't have spell check.

3.) Pen and ink is so final. There is no ctrl z, and I really hate how it looks when I have to cross something out.

Wish me luck!

  1. Steph - good luck! I wish I journaled, what an awesome thing it would be to pass this onto your (future) kids when you get older - my grandpa wrote an autobiography when he was older by looking back through his old journals. I have about 6 journals from when I was a kid that start with 2-3 entries, then hundreds of empty pages, so I hope you have a bit more success than I do! :)
